How to use Notebook Recorder to make a Screencast.
You can use the Notebook recorder to record anything on the screen. Add a microphone and you can capture sound at the same time.
What you will need:
SMART Recorder
Microphone (if you want sound)
Directions
Go to start
Smart Technologies
Smart Notebook
Open Recorder
It will appear at the top left corner of your screen
Now open what you’d like to record. (It can be anything from a power point presentation to a student drawing on the Smartboard to the teacher explaining how to solve a problem)
On the Smart recorder next to the red button is a down arrow. This will let you choose how much of the screen you’d like to record.
Click the down arrow.
There are 3 options
Record the desktop which will record everything on the whole screen
Record area to select and record part of the screen
Record window which will record the opened window you click on
The example we will use will be Record area.
Down arrow next to the red button and select record area
Now draw a box around the area of the screen you would like to record.
When you let go it automatically begins to record.
Next to the red button is a pause button which will pause the recording. To begin again click the red record button.
When complete click the stop button. (the blue one)
This will automatically take you to a save window.
Select where you would like to save the recording and save it. You may also rename it.
It will save as a Windows Media Video File and play in Windows Media Player.
To use the video in Notebook you will have to create a link to it. (See the adding a video to notebook directions)
